Can an Apple macbook be plugged into a dell or acer display?

I only need a arrangement for my macbook though do not have a money for an apple display.

You need to do two things:

1) Find out which Macbook you have, the one with MiniDVI or the one with MiniDisplayPort.

2) Find out what video connector that Acer monitor has.

There are four adapters available for purchase from Apple: MiniDVI-to-DVI, miniDisplayPort-to-DVI, miniDVI-to-VGA, and miniDisplayPort-to-VGA.

So find out those two things, and buy the right adapter from Apple, and you should be able to connect your Macbook to that Dell or Acer display.

If by display you mean external then yes, it will work fine.

Look carefully at the video connector on the Apple macbook and then see what monitors have that same connector or research for an adapter cable that will work between the macbook and the monitor you want (which will cost more money).
