Hate to say it but right now the best tablet is the iPad. The Samsung Galaxy is a distant second. All the other ones pretty much suck. I would hold off on purchasing a tablet right now. It is expected that Apple will release the iPad 2 in the next few months. Samething for the samsung Galaxy. If you want one really bad you should wait until the 2nd generation of those devices are released. Then you can buy the 1st generation for a greatly reduced price.
For the features you want you need to decide which are important to you. The iPad is the only good tablet with a 9" screen. The Galaxy has a 7" screen. Due to the 7" screen the Galaxy is pretty portable. The iPad is not since it is so large.
I believe you should get an iPad. I’m ON MINE RIGHT NOW!! I have never had any problems with it, and it is just overall amazing. If your getting another laptop for christmas, I definatley recommend an iPad. You will love the interface, and an update is coming out for that will be HUGE. (multitasking, game center, ect…). An iPad functions as a laptop anyways. So in the end, you should definatley get an iPad and I speak from experience

Well… Besides those 2, there are the Blackberry playbook or the motorella XOOM thats coming out soon. Also, the Ipad 2 is coming out soon so it the Ipad will be better than before! The new Ipad will probaly have 2 cameras front and back like the Galaxy tablet. If you want tsomething small and can go on wifi, you probaly want to the Galaxy. If you want a tablet that can take notes in class and is more protable than a laptop, you would want to buy the Ipad.
