My battery was defective. we sent it in underneath guaranty as well as they sent me a replacement. Old Part# VGP-BPS2A 11.1V / 4400mAh
New Part# VGP-BPL2 11.1V / 7200mAh. The brand new battery fit though has "wing" off a behind which a alternative didnt. It seems to be charging only fine. And given a Am Hrs have been some-more we pretence it will final longer as well as wish to keep it though am not certain if it will harm my laptop.

As long as your battery chemistry (Li-Ion) and voltage is the same, it should work fine. It looks like you got an extended battery, hence the "wing" which probably holds extra battery cells. The extra capacity won’t hurt your laptop.
you should be just fine…if it aint broke dont fix…
