Can I use a Netbook to stream video from a webcam?

I wish to leave a webcam upon during home to check upon my dog whilst I’m out as well as we do not wish to leave my large desktop upon all day, so we suspicion about removing a Netbook (Samsung NC10 tip preference presently). we competence wish to tide it to a website and/or jot down to a HDD. Does any one know if this is workable?

1. This is possible but i wouldnt suggest recording purely because of the space requirements but would work the same as having the desktop on all day but more power conservative!
