I have a laptop sony vaio VGN-A497XP as well as i consider a air blower is not operative so i wish to open it. we have unscrewed all as well as it comes off from a set of keys place (the top side) though during a behind nearby a screen, there seems to be something which does not let me open it properly. Anyone discuss it me if there is anything else i have to unscrew or un-clip or anything?

the laptop is built from the bottom cover up, so you will have to dismantle the whole thing to get to the fan assembly.
have you tried using a vacuum cleaner? maybe the fan is just choked up.
