i only got a laptop a make an effort a single by acer as well as i wanna shift a background, though i dont know how. i wasnt means to find a desktop credentials settings in a carry out pannel. do i have to download anything to shift a wallpaper?

I have the same problem. There is no option to right click on a picture and set as desktop background. There is no option to right click on the desktop and personalise or choose options. Even in control panel, when I type in desktop background, it says no results.
just right click on a picture and choose set as background
or right click on desktop and click personalize, and then desktop background and choose which folder that has the image you desire
Right click on an empty space on your desktop. Click on properties in the box that opens.
Then click on Desktop in the box that opens.
You will find background settings on there or you can choose one of your own from your pictures or photos folders.

OK… so no one in the world knows the answer to this question…. Do any of you that answered have this item… I doubt it b/c it doesn’t work like you say… DUH.. any idiot knows how to right click and personalize… the reason for the question is b/c on this netbook it doesn’t give the option for “Settings” or “Personalize”… it wont even let you click on a picture and set as background… I dont think you are able to change backgrounds on this netbook.
Apparently with the Windows 7 starter that comes with the netbooks they have removed the option to change the desktop background entirely.
if you have windows 7 starter edition, you can not change your background.

Just gather pics onto one folder, type in the profile menu: desktop, click on gadgets and choose slideshow on page to. then click the screwdriver and choose a folder!! ALL WHO ERE SWEARING HAVE THE RIGHT TO SHUT UP!
