How do you format a Sony vaio laptop without using the discs?

I paid for a used laptop, sony vaio indication sz220b we was only wondering how i can completley format a mechanism creation it similar to i only paid for it new.
Ok contemptible i consider i pronounced it wrong.. i wish to reformat a tough drive. Dell has this consider where we pull of a a "F1" buttons whilst the booting as well as it takes we to this thing which flattering most creates your mechanism code new.

There are 5 suggestions to question “How do you format a Sony vaio laptop without using the discs?”

  1. use the vaio recovery tool in all programs in start

  2. Just need the boot disk. run it and your set.

  3. Come on, you at least need new a Windows CD or what are you going to put on it after it’s formatted? What about applications?

Have you thought this through? If not DO NOT DO IT.

  4. If nothing is wrong with the computer, you don’t need to format it. Otherwise you may have to buy the recovery discs from sony or worse get a copy of windows XP to load back on. Maybe you should go to some local pc shop and ask if they can sell you a copy of an OEM licence of XP. Some dealers will do that but I think that way, it’s still a genuine licence but at least you’re paying for it. Otherwise go to a flea market and see if there are genuine copies that people are selling. Remember not to buy the recovery cds, it must be a genuine stand alone copy of xp. Or buy a genuine retail box of the operating system if all else fails. BTW, couldn’t you access the hidden partition? I am sure if it is the original hard drive, the OS is hidden in the partition. Check the sony website or forum on how to recover the partition.
