First of all your main problem is that your using vista . But, go into your router setting and make sure there are no rrestrictions placed on your vista based pc.
Since you said your getting ip conflicts you might want to manually set the ip for the vista lappy and see if that works.
(lastly it could be a driver issue, or it could be an update to vista has created a bug that is screwing up the connection to your router)
Sorry if it’s that last one, but with how problematic vista is it could be.
One of the many wonders of life is how microsoft screwed up so bad. (on vista that is, XP is great, but you probally knew that)
