hahaha. I'm having the same problem, and i'm also using Sony Vaio. :3

Anyway, about your battery problems,
Your current battery = Toasted.
>Just buy a new battery.

..about the overheating problems,
> Manually clean the ventilation system using a small vacuum.
or
> Service your laptop
or
> buy a cooling pad (USB fan). (recommended)

Oh, don't worry because it's normally. I have a laptop with 3 years and I just use my laptop with 15 minutes. You should buy a new battery

It is the sign of a bad battery but that does not mean something else is wrong with your laptop either.

Laptop batteries only have a set number of charge/recharge cycles, if your latops five years old you will have reached it and the battery life has degraded. A new battery would fix this. But to avoid it in future, if you're using your laptop somewhere where you won't be moving for a while, use it with just the charger plugged in and the battery left out.

If your laptops overheating try using a compressed air can to clean out all your airvents and make sure they're not clogged up.

Ya It'll Help.
Till Then Remove Battery And Run Laptop On AC Power.
Or You May Keep Battery In Refrigrator To Increase Its Life (Temp Solution)
Buy New Battery Nd Follow Charging/Discharging Instructions For Better Results.

It is a sign that you shouldn't have bought a sony laptop. I am small business owner. We currently own 5 laptops. A couple of years ago I tried a VAIO SZ. Its been an expensive learning lesson. For starters, the battery only lasted one year and then went to working only 15 minutes. I bought and had to return 3 aftermarket batteries because Sony uses a computer chip in their batteries so that other batteries will not work on their computers. A Sony battery costs $299.00. Though I can afford it, I don't like getting screwed. I could go on with many other issues but I'll spare you the time and save my efforts for something productive. In short, I will never buy Sony anything again. The company seems to think they'll outsmart the public to make a buck instead of producing a quality product and standing behind it. I've since ordered and HP, a Dell XPS and 2 IMB X series and they are good. (though the Dell replacement battery is also overpriced)
