Having had an iPad for several months now I can say it is a cool & useful gadget, but absolutely NO replacement for a laptop. That being said if your concerned at all with the usability of your current laptop or potentially being outdate soon (slow) I recommend the laptop. However, if you think you can deal with the current laptop situation (putting windows back on is an easy fix), I say go for the iPad. Once you learn how to integrate different apps like file storage with document editors to printing, etc it can be a great compliment to your laptop.
