If you downgraded to XP from Vista or Win 7, then you may have a motherboard driver problem, not an audio driver problem. This happened to me downgrading 2 HP laptops. Two solutions, 1) go to Toshiba’s web site and look for motherboard driver(s) for your computer and the XP OS. 2) I personally use Driver Agent by Phoenix. It’s free to scan your computer, driver downloads cost money. But if you pay once, you can download drivers for a year on up to 10 different computers. I think I paid $25 for it. For option 1, at the Toshiba web site in the driver download section, when prompted for your OS, just input XP, then look at the motherboard drivers and their update dates. Compare their driver number and update dates to yours. If you have the current one, work your way back, oldest, work forward, until you find one that works. Also I think Driver Agent has a scan and download option for one time use, but I don’t know for how much. Hope this helps. any questions, click my user name and email me. Driver Agent link is below.
